These work pods are designed to offer a unique solution for students seeking a serene working environment in public spaces. The pods are carefully designed to minimize their visual presence while providing a comfortable and private space for focused work.

One of the key strengths of this design is its versatility. Multiple pods can be arranged in various ways, allowing for interaction between users in different pods. The pods also incorporate public seats and standing desks on the outside, providing additional functional furniture for users. Additionally, a large pin-up board on the back side of the pod allows for easy display of important information or inspiration.

The work pod is made up of three main components: an aluminum structure, a polycarbonate skin, and wood furniture elements. The polycarbonate panels feature colored vinyl graphics that change in intensity, responding to the presence of users. This not only adds visual interest but also helps the pod blend in with its surroundings. The polycarbonate panels also allow for various lighting conditions, with ambient and task lighting provided inside the pod.

With dimensions of 2000 mm x 1100 mm x 1950 mm, the work pod offers a compact yet comfortable space for individual work. The design team, including Ammar Kalo and several other members, conducted extensive research and surveys to ensure that the design meets the needs of students. Factors such as acoustics, privacy, and visual isolation were given top priority during the design process.

This innovative work pod design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and professional requirements met by this design. It is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
